HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN
Can ya’ll believe I actually cooked something yesterday???? Not only that but it actually tastes good *brushes shoulders off*. Ever since we got a slow cooker I’ve been looking up recipes all over the Interweb that I could try out. The slow cooker is possibly the best thing ever in life to be created in terms of cooking. To me at least. I know that I seriously need to start getting my butt in the kitchen so I’ve made a not so serious vow to cook at least twice a week. Yesterday was my first day in keeping this promise and it didn’t turn out bad at all!
I made a meal that literally took about 10 mins to prep and throw into the slow cooker. My kinda cookin’! I made Honey Garlic Chicken and boy oh boy was it good! I just had to come on here and tell you guys all about it! If you make it yourself let me know if you like it! I’m sure you will ;-).
Honey Garlic Chicken
Boneless, skinless chicken breasts (I used 6 chicken breasts total) OPTIONAL: You can cut the chicken breasts into chunks if you’d like. I chose not to.
3 garlic cloves, minced
3/4 tsp. dried basil
1/3 soy sauce
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup honey
Pinch of red pepper flakes
1. Mix together garlic, basil, soy sauce, ketchup, honey, and red pepper flakes.
2. Add the chicken to the crock pot.
3. Pour the sauce over the chicken and mix everything together.
4. Cook on low for 4 hours.
Ya see that??? A whole meal in 5 easy steps. Well really 4. With the chicken I had brown rice and sauteed green beans. Yummy! If cooking is this easy I can definitely see myself doing it more……maybe.
