MEXICO TRIP RECAP So it's been about two weeks since I've been back from my Mexico trip and I'm just now doing a recap on it. Sad I know. Life just kinda punched me in the face. I've been working three days a week and then volunteering the rest of the days. I think I've figured out a better schedule though. At least I hope. Anyway Mexico was fabulous. Super relaxing. Most of our time was spent lounging by the beach or the pool. No complaints here. We stayed at the Ocean Riviera Paradise All Inclusive resort. It's Ocean Hotels newest...

GROCERY SHOPPING IN A DIFFERENT COUNTRY I hate grocery shopping. Despise it with every fiber of my being. Unfortunately this is a part of life that you can't really get around. I mean let's face it, you can only survive off of oxygen and water for so long. Here at home in Chicago, grocery shopping is a team effort between me and my mom. I take care of all of the produce and specific things I'll need for the dinners I plan on cooking throughout the week, and she takes care of everything else. That way we can get in and...

FINDING A PLACE TO STAY IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY I hope you all had a great weekend! My weekend was super busy. Lots of running for an assembly I had to attend on Sunday. If you know anything about me I tend to wait until the last minute to get everything together for any special event that I have to attend. I've gotten better. Believe me I was much worse. Everything worked out though. I had a great time! Because I took such a long break from blogging and last year was so monumental the next few blog posts will be all...

PHOTO FRIDAY As was mentioned in my previous post, my roommate and I got the opportunity to spend some time in good ole Costa Rica. We were there for two weeks actually. It was SUPER relaxing. The family that we stayed with lives right across the street from the beach. We were total beach bums while we were there, not only going to the nearby beach but checking out other beaches that Costa Rica has to offer. The sunsets were beautiful and waves were super fun to play in. Here are some pictures of the some of the scenery from our...

MY FIRST MONTH IN NICARAGUA As of yesterday I have officially been in Nicaragua for a month. Where did the time go? I could've sworn it was only last week that I was boarding an airplane, scared to death of the unexpected. I was literally in tears when flying cause I just didn't know what I was getting myself into. Thankfully though, my first month here has been nothing short of a blast. I'm having SUCH a good time. I can already tell it's gonna be an inward battle when it's time to go home. I've never really said why exactly I'm...
