My First Days at the Gym

As I mentioned earlier this week I finally got a gym membership at L.A. Fitness. So far I’m lovin’ it! Monday was the first day I went and I surprised myself by doing 30 minutes on the treadmill. I HATE the treadmill. At least I thought I did. We have a treadmill at home and right now we’re using it for storage lol. I’ve never been a fan of the thing so that would be why it’s collecting dust as we speak. When I got to the gym, I had a plan to start off on the ellipitcal. My feet drug me the other way and I ended up on the treadmill. I LOVED IT! I had my headphones in my ear with my jams blasting! Ya’ll couldn’t tell me nothin’! After that I did some strength training (arm work, squats, etc.). I worked out with Coco and my cousin Jazzi. It’s so much more fun when you’re working out with others. Added motivation baby!

Monday I was feeling all good about myself because of my increase in activity lol. Tuesday when I woke up, boy was I sore! It’s been a minute since I had worked out so to go from nothing to all that in a day was quite the adjustment.

Wednesday I was back at it again and this time I decided to do……ZUMBA!!!! OMG you guys, I had so much fun! I was a little nervous at first because there were only four of us in the class plus the instructor. I was hoping that it would be a full class so that I could hide in the back out of sight. With such a small class everybody was front and center and in full view. Once the class got started though and we started dancing that was all she wrote. I was gettin’ down!

The instructor played all types of music. From Reggae to African to Pop. She even played Ariana Grande’s Problem which is my jiggity jam. I was moving my hips and having the time of my life!

I really did have a great time. Zumba will definitely be a regular part of my workout. I plan on going today and I can’t wait!

Have you guys ever done Zumba before? How’d you like it? Which other exercises would you recommend?

    Just looking at it makes me feel tired LOL… I really do need to start moving somehow, though, and this does look like fun!
